Barking Doorbell  

The barking doorbell is a doorbell that gives a dog barking sound when the doorbell button is pressed.  This is a popular item that is included on a number of doorbell systems.  For instance, the musical doorbell includes two samples of a dog barking with one being a big dog and the other being a small dog.  This interest in this type of doorbell sound is peculiar especially because a great many dog owners are trying to get their own dog to stop from barking at the doorbell.  Also, this is not the only area where dogs are being incorporated into doorbells.   

Dogs are also being pampered a little by the creation of a system to let them alert the homeowner when the dog wants to go outside.  The two main options in this area are (1) a bell system that hangs over the doorknob and the dog hits the bells with his/her paw when he/she wants to go outside or (2) there is actually a doorbell button that the dog can touch to set off the bell.  These novelties are interesting piece of technology as it allows the dog to communicate his needs to the homeowner.  Naturally, there seems to be a division within most dog owners on whether this is something they would want their dog to be able to do.  However, regardless of where you stand, it is clear this step allows for a better relationship with your dog or at least a greater understanding of when the dog wants to go outside.
