Benefits Of Doorbell Intercom

Wired Doorbell Intercom Systems provide homeowners with something extra beyond the standard doorbell.  They provide convenience and safety at a reasonable price.  Here, is a list of their benefits and what you can expect from a doorbell intercom:

Screening Visitors

Doorbell Intercoms allow you the opportunity to screen your visitors without ever having to open or even go to the door.  This safety feature is a hit among the elderly and the disabled, but is also a popular feature for everyone because of its convenience.  No more need to rush to the front of the house or throw on a shirt or fix your hair.  Now, you can merely answer the call as is.

Monitor Rooms

A second benefit of doorbell intercoms is you can monitor other rooms in the house without having to leave the room.  This means you can check on the baby without having to walk all the way upstairs or you can call another family member without having to go to their room.

Design Features

A third benefit of doorbell intercoms is most of the intercoms are now being designed to match the décor of your home.  This means the intercom will not stick out like a sore thumb and negatively impact your home design plans.  Current designs include custom white or ivory answering boxes and some intercoms are made of brass and aluminum.  In addition, some companies offer a few colors to choose from so that you can find one that matches your home’s color designs.

Price

Another benefit of doorbell intercoms is the price.  Most doorbell intercoms can be had for a price ranging from $75 to $220.  The higher end prices usually include more than one internal call box.  Most systems tend to come with 1 or 2 call boxes.  Although if more call boxes are needed, you can purchase additional plug-ins which work similar to plug-in doorbell bell alarms.

Extra Features

There is a wide assortment of manufacturers of wired doorbell intercoms.  Common manufactures include Aiphone, Cyrex, Panasonic, Nutone, M & S, Valet, and GE.  Such a wide list of manufactures has led to competition which has led to the introduction of additional features.  For instance, you can now purchase doorbell intercoms that call you on your phone and allow you to talk to the person at the door thru the phone.  Other features include the increasing popularity of video and music intercoms.  The video intercoms allow you to actually visually see who is at the door whether it be in black and white or color.  Plus, some doorbell intercoms allow you to play music on them.  This enables the intercom to become a music player for the entire house by playing the AM/FM radio.  Of course, you do end up paying more for these other features with the video intercoms ranging in price from $200 to $500 and the music intercoms going up to just under $1000.  However, depending on your needs, this additional cost may well be justified.

All and all, the doorbell intercom gives homeowners extra features that a wired doorbell just does not have.  The extra convenience and safety may prove to be too much for you to pass up.
