Jacob Jensen Doorbell

The Jacob Jensen Doorbell is on the higher end of wireless doorbells.  Its sleek modern design make it an interesting option for those who are fashion conscious.

Basics

The Jacob Jensen Doorbell was created by the Danish designer Jacob Jensen and released to the public in the Spring of 2006.  It offers five different tunes (classic town hall bell, knocking sound at the door, contemporary lounge tune, asian-styled tune, and a low frequency tune for the hard of hearing).  There is also a LED that lets you know the ring and battery level.  In addition, you can add on additional bell chimes.  This means you could have one doorbell chime play a certain chime for the front door and the other doorbell chime could play another one at the back door.  Finally, the whole system weighs about 6 pounds and can be mounted on the wall or placed on desk.

Other Features

This doorbell offers a range of 450 feet which is substantially larger than the range offered by the average wireless doorbell (75 to 150 ft).  This range is larger than most long range wireless doorbells.  This means this doorbell can work well in large home and multi-level homes.

The Jacob Jensen doorbell also addresses another problem with some wireless doorbells which is frequency interference with other wireless devices.  This doorbell resolves this issue by providing a specific code to filter out these other devices.

Also, battery issues are addressed b/c the JJ Doorbell batteries are expected to last for two years which is about the standard length of time wireless doorbell batteries can be used.

Finally, there is even a USB version of this doorbell which allows you to hook it up to your computer.  This provides a little more versatility in deciding which type would work best for your home.

Reviews

The reviews of the Jacob Jensen Doorbell have been overwhelmingly positive.  People really like the range of this doorbell.  However, most people and critics are impressed with its design.  It won a Plus X Award for outstanding design in 2006.  The cool, modern design of this doorbell is what sets it apart from other wireless doorbells which currently tend to have only a plain, generic look of a white bell alarm and white button.  In fact, the only real criticism for the Jacob Jensen doorbell is the price as they can run anywhere from $160 to $200.

All and all, the Jacob Jensen Doorbell has become the clear market leader for high-end wireless doorbells.  If you are looking to add a quality home décor statement, this just might be what you are looking for.
